Busy week

This week was the busiest week for our Chapter so far this season starting with the Coldwater Bike Night on Tuesday with about 70 bikes showing up.
Wednesday was the first of the season Gravenhurst Bike night down at the water front, beautiful setting and equally beautiful sunset.
Saturday was Ride for Dad in aid of prostate cancer. Carole Cook turned up to take a few pictures at the start of the ride, thanks Carole.

Next was our Sunday ride for all those that hadn't quite had enough riding yet for a trip north for lunch at Memories on hwy. 69 to prepare everyone for the twisties of hwy 518 to Sprucedale and south on Muskoka Road 2 to Huntsville. These two roads were sporty enough to pretty much tire out the best riders, so after a brief stop by some unknown lake in the middle of nowhere in particular, we decided on the easy way home down the highway. Congratulaions to everyone that turned out this past week, it was an honour to ride with you.
More great rides coming up so stay tuned.

Victoria Weekend Ride

Another great turnout of 14 riders and passengers on the warmest day of the year so far for a lunch stop in Minden. Still managed to find winter sand on some of the less travelled roads but everyone seemed to handle the situation with ease. Congratulations to all that took part in this ride. Also thanks to my Granddaughter Erin that took lots of pictures for us including some from the back seat of my bike. Don't forget to check other pictures by clicking on Photo Gallery 2012.

Mother's Day in Haliburton

Mother's Day Ride to Haliburton saw only one Mother on the ride with an escort of male riders, thanks guys. Lots of winter sand still on Coopers Falls Road to deal with but the rest of the route was clean and free of the usual pot holes at this time of the year. We received excellent service at the restaurant in Haliburton with  a friendly efficient waitress. Another stop on the way home in Norland for desert ice cream for ones still able to put more in their personal tank. Great day, great company.

Base Borden Spring Warm-Up & Sunday Ride

Good turnout for the Annual Spring Warm Up at Base Borden last Saturday in aid of the Angus Food Bank. Base Borden Riders did a great job setting up a slow riding course for everyone to polish up their skills. Jim Wright not only lead the ride to the Base but took our Chapter on a short ride through Hockley Valley to round off a very pleasant day. Thanks to all those that took part in this event, also thanks to my Granddaughter Erin ( 50/50 Girl ) for some of the pictures taken. More pictures by clicking on "Picture gallery 2012 "

Next Day was the usual Sunday ride. This time through Stayner and Flesherton for lunch at Barrhead in Markdale, then back home through Beaver Valley, Grey Road 13 to Thornberry with a stop in Wasaga Beach. Too cool for the bikini's but just right for an ice cream. Thanks to Chuck for stepping up to ride Tailgunner for part of the ride then swopping to lead ride to Wasaga Beach. Good job.
